Blessed with one of South East Asia's most diverse ecosystems Puerto Galera has become in the last couple of years a favorite dive destination for diving enthusiasts. Since the 17th century Spanish trading ships found protection against typhoon in the astonishing beautiful natural harbor of Puerto Galera.

The provincial capital Puerto Galera is easily accessible from Manila by car (travel time 2.5 hrs.) and by ferries / boats (travel time 1.5 hrs.), about 120 Km. South of Manila.

Resorts, Restaurants and scuba diving schools are a short boat or jeepney ride away from Puerto Galera located at Sabang Beach, Small Lalaguna and Big Lalaguna. You are now in a tropical island landscape, with steep palm-clad hills and distant mountains, rocky headlands and beaches. Sabang is a small village and away from these places habitation is scarce and consists of tiny houses built-up on stilts.

Cocktail Divers dive shop and the resort Garden of Eden are located in the heart of Sabang Beach. Sabang Beach besides the diving is well known for its entertaining nightlife, numerous pubs and restaurants. Small and Big Lalaguna Beach can be reached by a few minutes walking on the beach from Sabang. These places are perfect to relax and enjoy a day in the sun.

You can buy all your daily needs in the local shops, the so-called sari-sari stores. Restaurants offer from Asian foods (Thai, Filipino and Chinese) to European specialties (Italian, French and German) all reasonably priced. For about 2£ to 3.00£ a day, you will get breakfast, lunch and dinner including drinks.
